Katia Silk consists of a unique composition of 80% hand-spun Katia silk and 20% cotton. The spun Katia silk comes from the cocoons of a wild silk moth. The short, soft filaments from these cocoons are spun into thick, irregular yarns. The harmonious mix with cotton creates a fascinating contrasting matt-gloss effect, in which the cotton yarns and hand-spun silk threads come together. The irregularities in the threads are given a surprisingly striking character.
