HISTORICAL ORIGIN
The Roumier bar stool echoes the opulence of a 1788 French armchair in The Met’s collection. The original was one of 16 armchairs commissioned by master chairmaker Georges Jacob (French, 1739–1814) for Louis XVI’s playroom at Saint Cloud. Our dining chair celebrates the neoclassical elegance and meticulous craftsmanship of Jacob’s designs.
